Thread Art and Design was established by Lindsay Bentis in 2006 to help individuals and families transform their homes into something uniquely beautiful and entirely their own. Thread is a full service interior design firm specializing in residential design and construction consultation.
We imagine each new project as a blank canvas. Beginning with a streamlined composition, we layer elements of color, texture, and textiles to complete a space. We believe in fashioning an artistic, yet highly personal and functional design solution for every client.
LINDSAY BENTIS
FOUNDER + PRINCIPAL
Originally from Los Angeles, artist and designer Lindsay Bentis draws her inspiration from the eclectic mix of style and living she observed while growing up in California. Always looking to art and nature as a guide, she has the unique ability to weave a West Coast organic modernism into New England homes. She has built an expertise in guiding clients through the construction experience. Beginning with architectural and space considerations, through selection of finishes and fixtures, all the way to the the last accessory, she provides them with a turn key experience. Lindsay arrived in Boston to attend the School of Fine Arts at Boston University, followed by a masters in painting at American University. After working on both coasts as a Visual Merchandiser, Stylist and Professor of Art, Interior Design felt like a natural and happy progression. Her work as been featured in Dwell, Boston Home Magazine and The Boston Globe. In 2016 she was named Best of Boston for Family Friendly Interior Designer and received a Wayfair Trade Tastemaker Award. Lindsay lives in Boston, MA with her husband Chris, children Theo, Skye and Owen and giant dog, Zuma.
KRISTEN WOZNY
An East Coaster through and through, Kristen Wozny joined Thread in 2015 as an associate designer and project manager. After partnering with Thread to build her own home in 2012, Kristen fell in love with all aspects of the design world - but most specifically with Lindsay’s unique aesthetic not readily found in the Boston area. After 20 years as a corporate executive she decided to take the leap into a creative career and has not looked back. Bringing with her years of relationship and project management skills, Kristen thrives on scouting out the perfect and often hard to find item, and making the design process as seamless and enjoyable as it should be for clients. Kristen lives in Boston with her husband John, and children Luke and Baya.
